|Print material||Auto Calibration||Maximum print size(inches)||Heating bed||layer thickness||Customer support||Assembly time||Warranty|
|PLA and ABS||Assisted||7.9"x7.9"x7.3"||Yes||50-400 microns||Excellent||10 Minutes||One Year|
The Sindoh 3DWOX has some excellent features which will save you time and a lot of frustration which can be associated with cheaper 3D printers.
High Resolution and Big Prints
Two big pluses of this printer over other cheaper printers are the resolution and print size. The max resolution being 50 microns giving the print higher detail, and a big print size of 7.9″x7.9″x7.3″ which is quite big for 3D printers.
The 3DWOX is a fully enclosed printer. This ensures an optimum printing environment providing consistent temperatures to produce better quality prints. This is excellent whether you’re printing with PLA or ABS.
The fully enclosed structure also means that the printer is very safe to use in the classroom and home office where there may be children or pets around. All the moving and heated parts are safely protected inside the structure and away from curious fingers.
There are two access points – one at the top and one at the front. These are hinged doors which are easy to open and close.
Being fully enclosed also means that this printer will run much quieter than other 3D printers so you can leave it running overnight without disturbing anyone’s sleep.
Auto Loading Filament.
Anyone who has had any experience with 3D printing knows how frustrating it can sometimes be to load the filament correctly into the extruder or hot end.
The Sindoh 3DWOX has solved this issue by being self loading. All you need to do is insert the filament cartridge into the cartridge holder in the front of the printer and the printer will load the filament automatically.
You can even pause the printing and swap the cartridge if you want to print with another color or your filament is getting low.
Monitor Your Print Job Remotely.
The 3DWOX has an on board camera and LED lighting which allows you to monitor your print job via an app on your smart phone or tablet.
This is great if you leave your printer working at home or in the office while you’re out. All you need to do is download the 3DWOX mobile app and watch how your print job is progressing.
Easy Print Bed Leveling.
We all know how important it is to have a perfectly level print bed to guarantee excellent printing results.
The Sindoh 3DWOX makes this procedure extremely simple with its assisted bed leveling. The display screen will show you precise instructions on which way to turn each leveling screw and even how many turns you need to make.
This certainly eliminates the countless minutes of trial and error usually associated with bed leveling using a sheet of paper.
Excellent Connectivity Options.
This printer gives you the option to connect via a USB cable or through your Wi-Fi network. The printer also has an inbuilt USB port so you can print straight from a Flash Drive.
This gives you plenty of options for controlling your 3D printer and sending print files to it.
Intuitive 5 Inch Touch Panel.
The 3DWOX features an intuitive 5 inch color touch screen making it super easy to control your printer. It incorporates simple user guides to guide you through the various printing processes.
You can also see a print preview image of the object you are printing and see the progress during the print.
Easy Slicing Software.
The Sindoh 3D printer comes with easy to use slicing software called 3DWOX Desktop. This software includes an ‘easy mode’ which is perfect for beginners. You can modify your print file and the software will even show you the best direction for printing.
Compatible With Solidworks CAD.
For designers who use Solidworks CAD there’s an add in feature in the 3DWOX Desktop software which allows you to print directly through your computer without creating a G-code file.
You can also monitor the print progress and see how much filament you have left.
Heated Aluminum Print Bed.
The print bed on the Sindoh 3DWOX is heated and has a maximum build capacity of 7.9 inches x 7.9 inches x 7.3 inches. The print bed is also removable using two quick-release levers, which makes it easy to remove your finished prints.
The print bed is Teflon coated aluminum which eliminates the need for glue, tape or hairspray to make the prints adhere to the bed.
What’s In The Box?
The Sindoh 3DWOX comes completely assembled and ready to use. Here’s what’s in the box:
- The Sindoh 3DWOX 3D printer.
- A power cable.
- A USB cable
- A USB stick.
- A scraper for removing finished print objects from the bed.
- The cassette to hold the filament cartridge.
- A 600g sample filament cartridge.
- Instructions and User Guide.
Does This Printer Require Any Set Up?
Basically, the 3DWOX is pretty much ready to use straight out of the box. All you need to do is plug it into the power and insert the filament cartridge.
You will need to ensure that the bed is level but this is simply and quickly done using the assisted leveling on the the touch screen.
You’ll also need to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network but this can also be done using the touch screen. The printer will automatically detect the list of available networks and all you need to do is enter the password on the touch screen.
Your printer is now ready to start its first print job! This is definitely one of the easiest set ups we’ve ever seen for a 3D printer.
What Type Of Filament Does This Printer Use?
Because the filament used by the Sindoh 3DWOX is self loading and fits into a cartridge, only proprietary Sindoh filament can be used. The filament cartridges are available in both PLA and ABS and come in a variety of colors.
There are a number of benefits to using these cartridges including automatic filament type detection by the printer. This ensures the print file and the printer is set correctly for the type of filament being used. The printer can also automatically pause the print job if the filament runs out so that you can insert a new cartridge.
There are some disadvantages to using proprietary filament such as the cost but the finished output of this printer does really make it worthwhile. The company has also been working on ways to reduce the cost of the filament by re-using cartridges and now has refillable cartridges and refill filaments available for purchase.
How Do You Change The Filament During A Print Job?
Changing the filament during a current print job is quite easy with the Sindoh 3DWOX.
Using the display panel, you press pause and unload the current filament. Then insert the new cartridge and press continue to resume printing. You can do this for color changes or if your filament is running out.
How Can You Monitor The Progress Of The Print Job?
As this printer is fully enclosed it’s quite difficult to actually see what’s happening inside the case. For this reason there are two ways in which you can monitor the progress of your print job.
Firstly on the touch screen. Here you’ll see quite a bit of information including:
- The name of the print file.
- The remaining print time.
- A graphical representation of the object being printed.
- A vertical progress bar.
- Pause and Cancel buttons.
- The temperature of the nozzle and the print bed.
- The type of filament being used.
- A button to turn the LED lamp off and the ability to change the filament.
- You can also monitor your print job on any smart phone or tablet using the 3DWOX app and inbuilt camera. What you’ll see is the actual inside of the printer as it’s working away. You’ll also see a horizontal progress bar and have the ability to cancel the print.
How Easy Is It To Remove Completed Prints From The Print Bed?
Because the print bed is made from thick sheet aluminum with a permanent adhesive surface, it can sometimes be a little tricky to remove the finished print. It’s a good idea to wait for the bed to cool down a little and then to lever off the printed object gently with the included scraper.
Do this over a soft surface so that the print doesn’t pop off with such force as to break on impact when it hits something hard. If you do this gently by prying around the edges you shouldn’t have a problem with smaller print jobs.
With larger print objects, it’s a good idea to program a support raft into the G-code file for the finished object to sit on. Once it’s finished printing, just separate it from the raft with the scraper.
Where Can You Get Extra Help?
In their site they offer many video tutorials about how to use their software, bed leveling and other guides. There are also many forums and places such as thingiverse with a big community of people creating prints with the Sindoh 3D printer.
